이정식 《두 사람》
PINPOINT ART CENTRE는 개관전으로 이정식의 《두 사람》을 선보인다.
작가는 조현적 징후를 보였던 두 사람과 함께 보낸 시간에서 출발해, 그들의 낯선 행동과 말이 남긴 두려움과 거리감을 정면으로 마주하고,
끝내 놓을 수밖에 없었던 관계를 되짚는다.
《두 사람》은 영상·퍼포먼스·공간 설치로 구성된다.
영상은 관계의 불가해함과 좁힐 수 없는 거리를 드러내고, 퍼포먼스는 관계의 예측 불가능성과 우발성을 현장에 불러일으킨다.
엘리베이터를 재구성한 공간은 불안과 공포를 머금은 장소로, 작가는 그 안에서 그들의 감정과 감각을 온몸으로 마주한다.
이번 전시에서 작가는 두렵고 생경한 감각과 언어를 자신의 이해나 해석으로 결론짓지 않는다. 낯섦 그 자체를 전면에 내세운다.
관객은 이 낯선 장면의 목격자로 머무는 동시에, 결코 닿을 수 없는 타자 앞에 선 ‘또 하나의 이정식’이 된다.
이 전시는 관조를 요구하지 않고, 낯섦과의 직면을 통해 각자의 감각과 관계를 돌아보게 한다.

Lee Jung-shik: Two People
PINPOINT ART CENTRE presents Two People by Lee Jung-shik as its inaugural exhibition.
The artist begins with the time he spent with two individuals who exhibited schizophrenic symptoms. Confronting the fear and sense of distance left by their unfamiliar behaviors and words,
he retraces a relationship that he ultimately had no choice but to let go.
Two People is composed of video, performance, and spatial installation.
The video reveals the inscrutability of relationships and their unbridgeable distances,
while the performance brings the unpredictability and contingency of human connection
directly into the space. The installation space, which reconstructs an elevator, functions as a site imbued with anxiety and dread; within it, the artist encounters their emotions and senses with his entire body.
In this exhibition, the artist does not attempt to resolve these fearful, unfamiliar sensations and languages through his own understanding or interpretation. Instead,
he places unfamiliarity itself at the very forefront.
The audience acts as a witness to these strange scenes,
while simultaneously becoming "another Lee Jung-shik" standing before an unreachable other.
Rather than demanding passive contemplation, this exhibition prompts us to reflect on our own senses and relationships through a direct confrontation with the unfamiliar.
